  my husband and i have a friend who credits the lord with every good thing that happens in his life.

  he is really a nice guy, unmarried, no kids and is now in remission from non hodgkins lymphoma (again, credit to the lord).

  what do you think about people who credit the lord for every good thing that happens to them?

  While I feel God does help people, but I think alot of religious people are presuming that he's done certain things for them.
  I guess it's not that bad as long as it's good things he gets credit for up to a point anyway.
  But to be honest persons that claim God is helping them in pratically every little good thing that happens to them are not very realistic.

  Have you ever misplaced your keys and are running late, so you pray to God to help you find them. Eventually you find them and thank God because you will now be on time to where ever you have to be.

  Did God really help you find those Keys(after all you prayed)?

  If he did help you find your keys so you wouldn't be late, why didn't he help a little girl who was kidnapped, raped, and murdered, that may or may not have prayed to him?

  It just as the Bible says "Time and unseen occurrences befall us all"
  The thing is how do you know for sure if God really did something for you or not.

  The Spirit Of The Law, Legalism and the WTS

  it has been noticed that when theological issues develop regarding wts policy over certain matters, such as the wts present affiliation with the un as a ngo, defenders of the wts policy often miss the spirit of what is truly happening and thus miss a wonderful opportunity to examine their own faith and motives, and perhaps to catch a glimpse of the soft underbelly of the wts and what it truly stands for.

  for example, it is quite obvious that the wts has violated the spirit of its own long held denigration of the un, politics and involvement in the social affairs of the world by taking advantage of the protection and programs offered by the un to its ngos.

  to theocratically allow this affiliation, it is certain that scriptures would have been searched and discussed by the then gb, a vote taken and the decision sanctioned.

  Kinda makes you wounder if some of those writters for the Borg are for real or not.
  I get the feeling that maybe some of these writters must secretly feel the way many of us do, but are stuck in the WT.
  Could it be who ever was behind that article sees clearly the double standard of the WT and was actually(or subconsciously) giving the WT
  a slap in their face.

  I wounder how uncomfortable it must be to be a writter for the Borg(cognitive dissonance).

  once again, i have received a 'writing' on my heart, which i am directed to share with any and all who will 'receive' it.. for many years, the wtbts and others have taught the "nephilim" to be the offspring of angels who had relations with the daughters of men, half-breed beings that wreaked havoc in a violent way in the earth during the days of noah, just prior to the flood.

  that, dear ones... is an error... and a lie.. by the spirit of my father, the holy one of israel, jah of armies, that is in me by means of christ, i say to you that the "nephilim"... are spirit creatures, ancient beings... 'of old'... princes from the spirit realm, the 'wicked spirit forces'... that came to the earth to 'fell' earthling man in the days of noah.. these being are those that i saw standing to the left of my father's throne, shrouded in darkness, and 'egging' on the 'battle' between to the two brilliant cherubs on the ark, the 'arkangels', which i related to you previously on h20.

  Hi you sassy girl you,(my version of may you have peace).

  I feel that the Bible says that the End will not be coming with a call of "peace and security", or reports of wars, or any event originating in the world of man.

  I think Jesus' warnings about the End of this system of things, or world as we know it has only one precurser..., the SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN IN THE HEAVENS..., that is the only sign I read in the Bible about an indication that the END is near.

  At this time true Christian will be able to lift their heads up for their deliverance is drawing near.

  What this will mean for non Christians, I don't know.
  I don't think the END as taught by the WTBS is what the Bible teaches.

  I feel God in his mercy will deal in a merciful way with the nonChristian(according to Romans 2:3-16).

  I would like to highlite Romans 2:15,16:
  They are the very ones that demonstate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and between their own thoughts, they are being accused or excused.16 This will be in the day when God through Christ judges the secret things of mankind, according to the good news I declare.

  This is what I read and feel is just, I may be wrong, it is only my opinion.

  Demonized Wall Paper!

  years ago i studied with a couple, that told me of an elder that studied with them years before.. they were having marital discord at the time and this elder was famous for finding demon posessed objects.. so this elder while conducting his study and talking about their marital problems asked them if perhaps they may have inadvertently brought home a demon posessed object, and that this was the cause of their domestic problems.. well they went through their whole apartment with this elder to see if they could find anything, but were unsucessfull.

  finally when in the kitchen the elder said he felt strange and that something in the kitchen must be causing it, they looked and looked but nothing.. but when the elder touched the walls of the kitchen, he felt the presents of something there on the walls that could be the causing of their problems.

  so they dung into the wall of the kitchen and found that it was painted over a couple layers of old wall paper.. guess what was one of the pictures they found on one of the layers of wall paper?.

  The elder actually was a very nice sincere man.
  Yes, the story is true.
  He was removed as an elder in another congregation for being so ecentric, but went to another congregation and was recomended at the strong encouragement from the CO(Conti), who had somewhat similar points of veiw.

  I personally feel his approach as well as your's, is pretty far away from anything I ever read in the Bible. I think people like yourself sometimes use fear of demons posessed objects to keep people in a state of fear to manipulate.

  One layer of wall paper had the patern of the sun. The elder felt they had found the route cause of their marital problems: (demonized sun worshipping wall paper).

  Well the elder gave them strong encouragement to either leave their apartment or get rid of the wall paper. They had a nice apartment and didn't want to leave so they started right a way to strip the paint and wall paper off the kitchen wall.

  They made quite a mess stripping the walls, and since the landlord lived on the first floor he found out and was furious, so he had them evicted.
